For 30 years, the Coco Palms Resort on Hawaii‘s island of Kauai has laid in ruins. Famously featured in Elvis Presley’s film “Blue Hawaii,” the resort is under new ownership, and its fate could be decided this week.

The new owners want to build a new 350-room hotel on the same site, according to KITV, and the permits are up for approval at a Kauai Planning Commission meeting on Tuesday. Opponents, however, would prefer it be turned down and replaced with a park or cultural preserve.

“They’re given special exemption to rebuild on an Iniki ordinance from 30 years ago. I mean, when our whole understanding of environment and our whole understanding of like cultural significance, it’s changed. Our entire

Hintegro Resort-Inspired Townhouse in Hong Kong

Hong Kong interior design house, Hintegro, fully graced a townhouse located in the low-density luxury estate Hong Lok Yuen in Tai Po. The resort-inspired abode is home to a young couple who have an affinity for supercars, skateboarding and luxury handbags. Taking the original ancestral home interiors, the couple teamed up with Hintegro to create a cozy yet refreshing getaway while also accommodating their Welsh Corgi, Shiba Inu and expected child. The design is all about balance as affordable materials were used to create a luxurious setting while still holding true to functionality.

“We are both busy at work and dream to come home to feel carefree like a holiday,” said the lady of the house.

Veering from simply going for a minimalist aesthetic, the design embraces each of their personalities as well as their individual passions. A greeting of two entryways leads up to the house with a fish

Tree Vistas’ creators Brian Coates and Greg Filipek wanted to build a unique and natural getaway that doesn’t really exist in Michigan, they said.

“Hopefully it’s a bucket list for people,” Coates said.
