Organization seeks to build $22M resort along Gulf Coast

GULFPORT, Ms. (WLOX) – Organizers form the Gulf Coast Development and Design proposed a resort style site to be made next to the Port of Gulfport.

The idea, presented to Harrison County’s Board of Supervisors, is at protecting the shoreline from hurricanes and beach erosion as well as improving water quality.

The envisioned project will feature a lagoon inside a swimming area and a rental area for kayaks, add more areas of sand beach and, more all located near the Island View Casino resort. The location was chosen based on its proximity to restaurants, hotels and shopping centers for tourism.

Big Snow Resort acquisition closes; names to be phased out

BESSEMER & WAKEFIELD, Mich. (WLUC) – The purchase of the Big Snow Resort in Gogebic County by a Minnesota family has been finalized. The Skinner family bought the resort, which includes Indianhead and Blackjack hills.

The resort will be re-branded over the next few months to Snowriver Mountain Resort. Blackjack will be renamed to Black River Basin and Indianhead will be renamed to Jackson Creek Summit.

The base area names will be changed to remain sensitive to Native American cultures, and the new names are for the two rivers running between the resort. Big Snow Resort will be renamed to eliminate confusion since Big Snow Resort is used at another ski operation elsewhere.

“For us, it was in a location that enabled us to see a nice circle of resorts between Lutsen, Granite Peak, and Big Snow Resort property,” said Greg Fisher, Midwest Family Ski Resort chief marketing officer.

The photo of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago, annotated

Perhaps the most thought-provoking component of the court filing submitted Tuesday night by the Justice Department did not involve legal argumentation or an articulation of the department’s possible case against former president Donald Trump. Instead, it was a photograph showing documents arrayed on the floor of an unidentified room.

Clearly visible on more than a half-dozen of the papers: classification markings.

The government’s months-long effort to recover documents that were kept at Trump’s Florida residence after he left the White House doesn’t depend on that material being classified. But the question of whether Trump had classified material with him at his Mar-a-Lago resort has captured the public’s attention. The photo published by the government appears to answer that question quite affirmatively.

There is detail in the photograph that bears closer examination, detail not immediately apparent

Explosive device found at Colorado resort, to be detonated by authorities

According to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, an unexploded avalanche control device was discovered at Breckenridge Ski Resort. It’s now set to be detonated near the top of Peak 7 on Wednesday between 11 AM and 2 PM.

The detonation will likely sound similar to explosives used during avalanche work in winter months. There is no need for locals to call 911 when this is heard, according to the sheriff’s office.

While it might sound a bit wild that an explosive device was found in a mountainous area that gets explored by the public, it’s actually not that uncommon.

Throughout the winter season, these devices are used to keep the mountains safe and sometimes, devices simply don’t go off as intended.

For example, in 2019, the Colorado Department of Transportation – which typically isn’t involved with on-resort mitigation – used more than 1,500 explosive ordnances in backcountry areas that they’re

The Latest Developments On America’s Newest Ski Resort

“We’re making great inroads. We have great communication going with Extell and Mayflower, and the Mayflower project is something that we’re very interested in — only if it’s additive to Deer Valley.” Mark Brownlie, Chief Operating Officer of Alterra Mountain Company in an interview with Ben Lasseter of KPCW.

The newest ski resort in the United States is inches closer to opening day. Mayflower Mountain Resort, which is being developed by Extell Utah, will be located just outside of Park City, and will directly access Deer Valley Resort. Fifteen lifts are expected when it’s fully built out, with room for future expansion. Their opening date for skiing is projected to be in late 2024 at the earliest.

While Utah is certainly in need of another public ski resort to spread the growing crowds out, some skeptics have expressed the following concerns about the new ski resort: the low

Paradise Costs: Why Barbudans are Fighting a Luxury Resort

On the tiny Caribbean island of Barbuda, big changes are afoot: a new international airport, golf course and luxury resorts are all in development.

The projects are backed by the central government of Antigua and Barbuda as well as international investors.

But some on Barbuda are skeptical of the benefits the new projects will bring as well as the potential environmental impact on Codrington Lagoon National Park, a wetland on the island protected by an international treaty. These doubts persist despite the fact that Palmetto Point, the main development site within the park, was previously damaged by sand mining.

On top of this, the erosion of a unique form of land ownership on Barbuda, that sought to ensure land could only be leased, not purchased, and that required all major developments to be approved by the local council, has caused further rancour between local politicians and the national government.

The Four Seasons Resort Nevis, a Caribbean Icon

You can spend all day watching Nevis Peak.

The green, daunting, cloud-crowned volcano is the towering core of this island, its energy imbuing itself into just about every moment of your day.

But Nevis Peak is watching you too.

It’s what makes this island just so magical.

And it’s the essential backdrop, the tone-setter and the heartbeat of one of the Caribbean’s truly iconic resorts: the Four Seasons Resort Nevis.

Four Seasons Caribbean Resort Nevis
You see Nevis Peak the moment you arrive on the dock.

It was the first-ever Four Seasons in the Caribbean when it opened just over three decades ago, a resort that began as a vision by Isadore Sharpe and became the model for what a Caribbean hotel can be, not just from a hospitality standpoint but for the way it sustains and connects with the island.

And while the resort has maintained its place as a Caribbean legend, it’s got

Disney Parks and Resort in-room skin care products supplier H2O+ to cease operations

After 33 years in business and almost 15 years as the supplier of Disney’s resort and cruise line toiletry products, H2O+ has announced it will cease operations.

H2O+ have been a regular sight in Disney hotel rooms for 15 years

In an announcement on the official H2O+ website, the company says, “After 30+ amazing years of innovation, we have made the very difficult decision to retire the brand at the end of the year.”

H2O+ became a fixture in Disney’s resort hotel rooms in 2008, supplying complimentary skincare and hair products.

The product’s future with Disney is unclear, with the company saying it will, “fulfill its obligation to supply products in accordance with agreements with its business partners”

H2O+ has been a long-time partner with the Walt Disney Co.

H2O+ parent company, Pola Orbis Holdings said, “Since joining the group, H2O Plus has been engaged in the manufacture and sale of cosmetics primarily in the US. However, the business environment surrounding the beauty brand has become “extremely difficult,” with sales falling short of expectations.

Controversial plan could see Hawaii’s famous Coco Palms Resort rise again

The Coco Palms Resort was damaged in a 1992 hurricane and has been sitting unrepaired since then.

The Coco Palms Resort was damaged in a 1992 hurricane and has been sitting unrepaired since then.

Christine Hitt

For 30 years, the Coco Palms Resort on Hawaii‘s island of Kauai has laid in ruins. Famously featured in Elvis Presley’s film “Blue Hawaii,” the resort is under new ownership, and its fate could be decided this week.

The new owners want to build a new 350-room hotel on the same site, according to KITV, and the permits are up for approval at a Kauai Planning Commission meeting on Tuesday. Opponents, however, would prefer it be turned down and replaced with a park or cultural preserve.

“They’re given special exemption to rebuild on an Iniki ordinance from 30 years ago. I mean, when our whole understanding of environment and our whole understanding of like cultural significance, it’s changed. Our entire
