The ‘ dumbing down ‘ of reports has been a problem within media studies for some time. For a few years tabloid newspapers have remained the very best selling out there, but issues have been raised over the spill of tabloid model journalism into ‘quality’ newspapers (i.e. broadsheets) and broadcast news in the UK. This project aims to establish and discuss dumbing down as an idea and the implications it may have on information as a media product.
